It was my pleasure to start our 2011 wedding season last Saturday, capturing the story of Lucy and John’s big day at the Plas Hyfryd Hotel in Narberth, Pembrokeshire, West Wales.
A little early spring rain and mist didn’t dampen the occassion and the story of the day started with some very relaxed ‘getting ready’ photos of Lucy with her two bridesmaids and friends at the hotel. Lucy looked stunning and was positively glowing with her five month ’bump’, who featured in many of the images throughout the day making for a lovely twist on the traditional wedding story and photos.
After John’s arrival with the guys, we grabbed a few minutes in between heavy showers to get some shots of the boys together, before moving back inside for a beautiful civil ceremony.
After the ceremony we spent 20 minutes getting those all-important family photos, before Lucy and John left for the short trip back through the picturesque town of Narberth, to the castle ruins. Here we had a dry window of 20 minutes and found the ruins completely deserted, allowing us to make some fantastic bride and groom images, with Lucy enjoying her ‘weddingtons’, allowing her to have more stability as we toured the venue, than both John and myself!
We then returned to the Plas Hyfryd Hotel for the wedding breakfast, with some amazing food. (Thanks for feeding me guys and thank you to Erica at the hotel for such speedyservice.) The speeches followed the meal, all wrapped up in time for the start of Wales v’s Ireland in the six nations, and the arrival of the evening guests.
