It was my pleasure to capture the story of Steven and Leanne’s wedding last Saturday at the Manor Park Hotel in Clydach near Swansea, South Wales.
The day started with Leanne’s preparations at her home overlooking Aberavon beach. She got ready with her three bridesmaids and Mum. A lovely relaxed morning, with champagne and strawberries.
I left the house to make the short 10 minute trip to beautiful St. Theodores church in Port Talbot to meet Steven, his best man Mark and the ushers, before the ladies arrived and the service began.
After a lovely church service in the ‘cathedral’ like atmosphere of St. Theodore’s, Steven and Leanne left the church via a massive cloud of confetti, a fitting ‘grand’ exit for such a grand venue.
We arrived at the Manor Park Hotel in Clydach, just outside Swansea and were greeted with a few spots of rain as a shower loomed. Thankfully it decided to pass over and left the venue dry, if a little cloudy for the rest of the afternoon.
Steven and Leanne took a 20 minute tour of the gardens and grounds with me for their bride and groom photos, which of course included the much photographed giant Ewe tree, though hopefully we managed to achieve a ‘fresh’ and ‘cheese-free’ look to the photos. The session ended with a walk down the tree-lined drive way of the Manor Park Hotel, which always provides some lovely natural, reportage imagery.
After their bride and groom photos, Steven and Leanne returned to their guests for 15-20 minutes of group photos, achieving just the right balance of getting all the important shots, without this part of the day dragging on for hours while everyone gets bored and fed up.
Before we knew it, it was time to head inside for food. Steven and Leanne were announced into the reception and sat down for their wedding breakfast. After a great meal, it was time for cake cutting followed by some very emotional speeches.
If you were at this wedding or know this lovely couple, please leave them a personal message below. All of the images from this day will be available to view from this page, once Steven and Leanne have returned from honeymoon and come into the studio for their champagne preview session.
