It was my pleasure to document the story of Claire and Emyr’s wedding last Saturday at the beautiful Cardiff wedding venue, the New House Country Hotel, situated between Cardiff and Caerphilly in South Wales.
The story of the day began at Claire’s parent’s home in the nearby Rhiwbina area of Cardiff, with the morning preparations, before I left to make the short trip up the hill to the New House Country Hotel to meet Emyr and his best man and ushers.
With the much forecast heavy rain from the west threatening, Claire’s bridesmaids arrived ahead of Claire and her Dad who arrived in a fantastic VW Camper van. We then went into the main suite for a civil wedding ceremony, before returning outside for welcome drinks.
After a small number of carefully selected group shots, the guests got on with the important job of enjoying the day (and still dry weather,) in beautiful surroundings, while Claire and Emyr accompanied me on a tour of the grounds of the New House for their ‘bride and groom’ images.
We made full use of the stunning location with the hotel set into the hillside enjoying panoramic views of Cardiff city and Cardiff Bay in the distance, including a massive (Pine?) tree, already surrounded with fallen autumn leaves.
We then headed back inside for the wedding breakfast, followed by cake cutting and speeches, before the rain arrived (thankfully later than forecast,) late afternoon/early evening.
