It was my pleasure to document the story of Tom and Sian’s wedding day last Saturday at the beautiful Gower wedding venue, the King Arthur Hotel in Reynoldston, Gower, Swansea, South Wales.
The story of the day began at Sian’s parent’s home in Killay, with Sian’s two bridesmaids and flower girl. After a very calm morning I made my way down onto Gower and the King Arthur Hotel, to meet Tom and the guys.
One of Gower’s most popular wedding venues, the King Arthur is always a favourite local venue of mine to document a wedding at, with it’s fantastic garden, lake and meadow in ‘full-grass’ during this time of the year. The last time I visited the King Arthur was in the snow of last December!
After a few shots of Tom with his best man and usher, there was plenty of time for some reportage coverage of guests arriving and enjoying the Gower sunshine, before the bridesmaids arrived, followed by Sian and her Dad.
After a beautiful civil ceremony in the main room, everyone moved outside for drinks and canapes. Tom and Sian slipped away after 10 minutes to make the short trip in their car across Gower to the Oxwich Castle ruins, for some ‘bride and groom’ photos.
As usual we seemed to have the castle ruins and it’s grounds almost completely to ourselves apart from a few foreign tourists who seemed to think they had stumbled across a real ‘Welsh’ Prince and Princess!
We spent about 20 minutes at Oxwich Castle before returning to the King Arthur Hotel, to be greeted by the guests still outside and ‘armed’ with buckets of confetti. A few carefully selected group and family shots followed, which were all done and dusted within 15-20 minutes, ensuring the flow of the day wasn’t disrupted, and everyone still had big smiles on their faces.
Tom and Sian were announced in to their wedding breakfast and decided to conclude their speeches and cake cutting before sitting down to eat. I stayed through the meal (thank you for the food guys, it was delicious,) so that at the end of their main course, Tom and Sian could escape one last time for a few more ‘bride and groom’ photos in the grounds of the King Arthur, making full use of the wonderful garden, it’s lake and the meadow.
If you know Sian and Tom and/or were part of their special day, please leave them a personal message below. All of the images from this special day will be available to view from this page, once Tom and Sian have returned from honeymoon and been into the studio for their champagne preview.
