Swansea children’s photographer, Family portrait photography South Wales, location-based portrait photography Wales, UK

It was my pleasure to photograph Lucy and her friends Holly, Niamh, Keira and Summer, together with their Mum’s this week at beautiful Gnoll Park overlooking the Neath Valley in South Wales, near Swansea.

Lucy’s Mum Rachel, is a former wedding client of mine from early in 2008, so it was lovely to see her again and to meet her 13 month old daughter Lucy, together with their friends who range in age from 11 to 17 months.

Perfect weather for an outdoor location shoot (if a little on the chilly side as it’s always windy up on the hill-side of Gnoll Park,) and a mixture of babies in various stages of mobility from ‘sprinter’ to ‘sitting still’ and everything in between, together with five very active Mums who were constantly running around and collecting escapee’s throughout our 1 hour session, with the bright clothes of one year old girls, all added up to a fantastic location-based photo shoot, and lots of fun and laughter.

Although many people would be daunted by the task of trying to capture images of such a large (and young,) group of children, I have to admit that these were probably the most well behaved little ones I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting and photographing! Although friends from before birth, the girls played together and interacted like siblings, really enjoying being outside with all of their favourite brightly coloured toys.

The natural way these life-style outdoor sessions are conducted, meant that after a few minutes all five children were oblivious to the fact that I was even there. With very little posing and almost no interaction from me, the images captured them at play and enjoying themselves naturally.

If you know these five little girls or their Mum’s, please leave them a personal message below and don’t forget to click the ‘Like box’ of you’re a facebook user. All of the images from this colourful outdoor on-location portrait session will be available from this page, after the Mum’s have been into the studio to see the images for themselves soon.

If you’d like to book your own outdoor location-based family portrait session before the summer weather ends for another year, then please contact us soon to book your shoot, as dates are filling up quickly.
