Recent wedding photos from the Fig Tree Restaurant by Carmarthenshire wedding photographer, Nic Cleave Photgraphy

It was my pleasure to capture the wedding of Victoria and Iain last Saturday at the beautiful West Wales wedding venue of the Fig Tree Restaurant in Dryslwyn, near Llandeilo in Carmarthenshire.

The story of the day started with Victoria’s preparations at her parent’s home in Carmarthenshire, where we took full advantage of the gorgeous sunny weather for some photos outside of Victoria with her bridesmaids, before I left the house to make the journey to St. David’s church in Penllergaer near Swansea.

After the church ceremony we made the trip west towards Llandeilo and the Fig Tree Retaurant, but stopped off first at the ruins of Dryslwyn Castle, just a few hundred meters past the Fig Tree. Victoria came prepared with training shoes in the car, and once changed charged up the steep hill and steps to the castle ruins, leaving me struggling in her wake!

Once at the top we explored the site (finding it deserted,) which made for some dramatic and breath-taking bride and groom photos. After a careful descent back to the car, we made the short trip down the road back to the Fig Tree for the reception.

Guests were outside and enjoying the sunshine so we quickly got the group and family photos done, before heading inside for the wedding breakfast and some fantastic food!

The end of the meal was followed by speeches and cake cutting, but then a guest appearance by a Chinese Dragon, who lead the guests outside for a dance. A dramatic and colourful end to a wonderful day.
