It was my pleasure to document the story of Amy and Darren’s wedding last Saturday in the October heatwave at the beautiful new Swansea wedding venue of Plas Cilybebyll near Pontardawe in South Wales.

This was my second visit to this luxury exclusive use hotel in as many weeks, and like my first visit here the day and the venue didn’t disappoint. With the mercury rising into the high 20′s as autumn leaves fell from the trees around us all day, this was easily my hottest wedding of the the year, despite it being the first day of October!

My involvement with the story of the day began with Amy’s preparations in the gorgeous bridal suite, surrounded by her bridesmaids, sister, Mum and friends. With Darren also getting ready at Plas Cilybebyll, there was another opportunity for me to capture some ‘getting ready’ shots of the boys too.

The ceremony took place outside in the beautiful October sunshine, in front of the ‘Petit Chateâu’ with guests fanning themselves throughout in an effort to keep cool. After this beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony, everyone made their way through the grounds to one of the manicured lawns for an outdoor drinks reception.

After everyone had re-hydrated, we shot the carefully selected group and family photos, ending with a big group shot on the main front lawn with Plas House itself providing a perfect background.

Amy and Darren then took a brief tour of the grounds with me for their ‘bride and groom’ photos, before returning to the Petit Chateâu for their evening reception and wedding breakfast, followed by speeches, cake cutting and their first dance.
