It was my pleasure to capture the story of Rob and Gemma’s wedding last Friday at beautiful Oldwalls Leisure on Gower, near Swansea in South Wales. On the hottest day of the year so far, the mercury was already at 20 degrees at 8.45am when I arrived at one of Gower’s fastest growing premiere wedding venues, Oldwalls Leisure.

Gemma was getting ready with her four bridesmaids in one of the luxury cottages while finishing touches were being made by the staff at Oldwalls to the gorgeous marquee next to the lake.

I left the ladies getting ready as the champagne started to flow, to make my day down to nearby Llanrhidian church, nestled in this picturesque Gower hamlet overlooking the Loughor estuary. Here I met Rob and his best man Dean (himself a wedding client of mine from last year,) together with his ushers who had arrived and found the pub in front of the church an impossible magnet in the mid day heat.

Gemma’s bridesmaids arrived with her Mum, closely followed by Gemma and her Dad in an open top beaufort. Still bathed in sunshine the wedding party made their way along the pretty church path towards the waiting assembled guests trying to keep cool inside.

After a lovely church service Gemma and Rob made their way to nearby Woebley Castle for a 20 minute ‘bride and groom’ shoot. We made full use of this spectacular ruined castle and it’s grounds, perched high up on the hillside, overlooking the Bristol channel.

We then made the short trip back to Oldwalls Leisure for thre marquee reception, but not before a few group photos in the main courtyard, followed by some family shots in the shade of the wedding garden next to the marquee.

Guests were seated and a served a fantastic meal before the cake was cut, followed by speeches and the arrival of evening guests.
