Newton House & Dinefwr Park castle recent wedding photos from Llandeilo & Carmarthenshire wedding photographer, Nic Cleave Photography

It was my pleasure last Monday to document the story of Richard and Sarah’s wedding day at the gorgeous countryside manor house of Newton House, in the Dinefwr Park and Castle Estate near Llandeilo in Carmarthenshire, West Wales.

The story of the day began with Sarah’s preparations at Plas Glansevin House in Llangadog, just outside Llandeilo in Carmarthenshire, West Wales. Plas Glansevin is a beautiful country manor house that is available to rent as an exclusive use ‘hotel’. All 60+ guests stayed at the house with many staying for the full week, extending the wedding celebrations beyond the big day itself.

By mid-day it was time for me to leave Plas Glansevin and make my way back through the Carmarthenshire countryside to the Dinefwr Park Estate in Llandeilo, the home of Newton House which is now cared for and managed by the National Trust. Here I met Richard and his best man before the guests started to arrive, ahead of Sarah.

A beautiful civil ceremony was held in one of the many fantastic rooms at Newton House, before guests ventured outside for drinks and canapes, mindful of the heavy and thundery showers we had been experiencing all morning.

After a few carefully selected group photos outside in the beautiful gardens at Newton House, Sarah and Richard accompanied me on a tour of the house and it’s grounds. We started outside and then moved inside to the huge oak staircase and up to the old glass conservatory with panoramic views over the gardens and valley beyond.

Richard and Sarah had pre-arranged to visit Dinefwr Castle, a short drive away across the other side of the estate, so we left Newton House to make our way over to the Dinefwr Castle ruins, high up on the hillside. As the clouds darkened once again, we could see the rain coming down the valley towards us in the distance, so our tour of the castle ruins began with umbrellas.

The views from the top of the battlements were stunning, with full 360 degree views of the stunning Carmarthenshire countryside below. After 20 minutes exploring the ruins of Dinefwr castle, it was time to leave and make our way back to Newton House for Richard and Sarah’s ‘grand depart.’

A short 20 minute drive saw everyone arrive back at Plas Glansevin House, where outside caterers had prepared a wedding breakfast in the main dining room. Speeches and cake cutting followed the meal.

If you know Richard and Sarah and/or were part of their amazing day, please leave them a personal message below. All of the wonderful images from their special day will be available to view from this page, after they have seen the images for themselves first, in the next few weeks.

Well, I’ve been looking forward to seeing the shots of the two newlyweds up at the Castle. I think my favourite is the B&W shot looking down from above – Richard’s “she’s all mine, yep, all mine, mine, mine, mine” look and Sarah’s “Surely I’ll wake if I pinch myself” expression are just wonderful. Guys, it was a privilege and a pleasure to be with you throughout the week.
