It was my pleasure to document the story of Kyle and Katie’s wedding on Sunday September 18th at Struthers church in Skewen, Neath and then at the beautiful Miskin Manor in Miskin near Cardiff.
My involvement with the story of the day began at Struthers Pentecostal church in Skewen, Neath. Here I met Kyle and his best man and ushers. We played ‘yo-yo’ with the weather as heavy downpours managed to interrupt the five minutes of ‘boys’ photos outside the church on 3 separate occasions, forcing us to run for cover as the heavens opened!
However, an old red telephone box just outside the church provided a great ‘vintage’ background for some great shots of Kyle, ahead of Katie’s arrival with her Dad, preceeded of course by the arrival of her three bridesmaids and her Mum.
After a lovely church service the heavens opened again as everyone left the church, hoping that the weather wouldn’t follow us down the M4 from Neath, all the way to Miskin Manor near Cardiff.
We arrived in Miskin to find Miskin Manor bathed in sunlight and with blue skies, but within 15 minutes the skies greyed and the rain started. Fearing that we had now missed our window of fine weather for the day, Kyle and Katie braved the heavy rain and wind and persisted with their tour of the beautiful grounds at Miskin Manor, determined not to let the rain get in the way of them having beautiful bride and groom photos in the grounds of this stunning Cardiff wedding venue.
After 15 minutes we admitted defeat and with the rain now coming in sideways under the umbrellas, we headed inside. Just as we had finished drying ourselves off though, the rain stopped and the skies cleared to blue once again! We decided it was a window of opportunity that simply couldn’t be missed for some carefully selected group photos to be taken outside on the fabulous lawn at Miskin Manor.
The sun was still shining after we had finsihed our 7-8 group shots in 15-20 minutes, so Kyle and Katie decided to invest a little more time in creating a second set of bride and groom images in the grounds. The result is a stunning set of photographs from Miskin Manor that look like they were taken on two completely separate days, something which I’m sure will look fantastic in their final album!
We then headed inside for the wedding breakfast, where Kyle and Katie cut their cake before sitting down for their meal. This is where my documenting of the story of their day ended.
If you know this lovely couple please leave them a personal message of congratulations below, to read while they are on honeymoon. All of the images from this special day will be available to view from this page, as soon as they have returned from honeymoon and been into the studio to see them for themselves first.

Dear Katie and Kyle,
I wanted to be the first here to say a big congratulations to you both once again.
I hope you enjoyed the evening on Sunday and are now relaxing in Mexico. Thank you for inviting me to document the story of your day, and for being such great sports with our battle against the rain.
I’m looking forward to seeing you both again on your return from honeymoon, and to showing you the complete set of images from the day.
Safe travelling.

Nic,
Have just looked at the album and very happy indeed with it.
Everyone who has looked at it has nothing but praise for how excellent the photos are and how well the album has been put together.
We wanted to thank you for all of your hard work in producing something we will cherish for the rest of our lives.
Katie and I are over the moon with the results from our big day. Right from the very beginning, Nic did everything he could to make us both feel at ease and at the same time ensure he got the best possible photos no matter what circumstances would arise.
When we both selected Nic as our photographer, we knew we had managed to get one of the best photographers we’ve ever seen. We didnt even consider anyone else. All his previous work had us in awe, and hes really delivered again with our album. The comments people give us for how lovely the pictures were is compliment to how great Nic is at his job.
This post is very over due, and we have since ordered more prints from Nic as the demand goes up!
Thanks so much for being a huge part of our day Nic, the photos are out of this world and will be cherished forever.
Katie and Kyle.
