It was my pleasure to document the story of Mathew and Victoria’s wedding last Saturday at the beautiful Monmouthshire wedding venue the Llansantffraed Court Hotel near Abergavenny, sat in the stunning Usk valley in the shadow of the Brecon Beacons.
This was also a day when I had the pleasure of meeting a 2010 couple of mine (Chris and Rachel,) and a couple who are who’s wedding I’ll be capturing in February 2012 (Darren and Lisa,) who were involved as an usher and chief bridesmaid.
The story of the day began with Victoria’s preparations at the hotel in a fabulous room with her Mum and bridesmaids. With Mathew and his groomsmen also getting ready at the hotel, this was a rare opportunity for me to also capture a few shots of the guys as they struggled with cuff links and cravats.
With a civil ceremony being held in the hotel, there was no need for me to leave the preparations early, which allowed for some great ‘ready’ photos of Victoria in her fab room, before I headed downstairs to meet the guys ahead of the marriage ceremony.
The ceremony took place in a gorgeous room overlooking the stunning grounds and lake. Afterwards guests made their way outside onto the terrace for welcome drinks and nibbles. After 15 minutes we took 8 carefully selected family and group shots with the amazing grounds as a stunning backdrop, which were done and dusted in 20 minutes, allowing everyone to get back to enjoying themselves.
A little later Mathew and Victoria accompanied me on a 20 minute tour of the beautifully manicured lawns and lake at Llansantffraed Court for their bride and groom photos, stopping as we walked to take in the amazing groupnds and stunning views of the Usk valley and Monmouthshire countryside.
We then returned to the marquee for Mathew and Victoria to be announced into their wedding reception for a fantastic meal, followed by speeches and cake cutting.
If you know Mathew and Victoria please leave them a personal message below. The complete story of this special day will be available to view from this page, once Mathew and Victoria have returned from honeymoon, and been into the studio to see them for themselves first.
