Craig-y-nos Castle recent wedding photos from Brecon Beacons and Powys wedding photographer, Nic Cleave Photography

It was my pleasure to document the story of Anna and Richard’s wedding last Saturday at Craig-y-nos Castle at the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park in Powys, and at a beautiful traditional Welsh Chapel in Carmarthenshire.

My involvement with the story of Richard and Anna’s day began early in the morning at Craig-y-nos Castle, where both Anna and Richard were getting ready with their respective ‘attendants.’

It was then a 45 minute drive off the Brecon Beacons and down the Swansea valley to the end of the M4, from where it was only a short trip up the A48 to the Carmarthenshire village of Cwmgwili, where Libanus Chapel is situated.

One of my favourite type of wedding ceremonies to document, traditional Welsh chapples often provide a warm and intimate atmosphere for a couple to tie the knot in, and Libanus chapple certainly didn’t dissapoint!

After a beautiful ceremony, family and friends blocked the lane outside the chapel for a good 20 minutes as everyone waited for a hug and kiss from Richard and Anna, before the confetti shower.

It was then a 45 minute return trip to Craig-y-nos, but Anna and Richard stopped off at Craig-y-nos Country Park for some ‘bride and groom’ photos. We then returned to Craig-y-nos Castle for the reception where the showery weather of earlier returned with a vengeance. This meant that the family and group photos were all taken inside the magnificent Pati Theatre.

Inside group photos can sometimes lead to this part of the day being becoming unfortunately ’extended’, but with a fantastic group of guests we were all done in 20-25 minutes, allowing everyone to get back the party!

Anna and Richard were announced into their wedding breakfast in the conservatory at Craig-y-nos Castle and the meal was followed with speeches and cake cutting.

If you know this wonderful couple please leave them a personal message below. The complete story of their day will be available to view from this page, once they have returned from honeymoon and seen the images for themselves first.

Dear Anna and Richard,

I wanted to be the first here to congratulate once again on getting married!

Thank you for inviting me to document the story of your day. I hope you enjoyed the evening and are relaxing on honeymoon.

I look forward to seeing you both again on your return from Mexico and to showing you all of the beautiful images from your special day.

Safe travelling,

Nic
