It was my pleasure to capture the story of Alun and Zoe’s wedding day last Saturday at the beautiful Cawdor Hotel in Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire, West Wales.
The story of the day began at beautiful St. Teilo’s church right in the middle of this picturesque Carmarthenshire town, where I met Alun, his best man and two ushers. Heavy showers and bright sunny spells more like March/April weather than mid-June, meant that the light was constantly changing throughout the day, and also meant that umbrellas were always close to hand.
After Zoe’s bridesmaids arrived the car returned to collect Zoe and her Dad, arriving at the church just after the most recent downpour. After a lovely church service in St. Teilo’s guests braved the next shower to make the short walk up the high-street to the Cawdor Hotel for the reception.
I accompanied Alun and Zoe in their car for a short ride through the town to the top of the hill where we reached beautiful Penlan Park, which contains one of Llanedilo’s most famous landmarks, the bandstand. With beautiful views over the whole town and Carmarthenshire countryside, the earlier rain meant that we had the park to ourselves, allowing Alun and Zoe to completely relax and enjoy their 20 minute bride and groom shoot.
We returned to the Cawdor boutique style hotel to be met by all the guests in the courtyard, where we captured the few group and family shots outside while it was still dry. A little later, just before guests were seated for the wedding breakfast, I managed to grab two minutes to photograph Alun and Zoe with their three month old son, Matthew. This is something I try to do with all of my couples who already have children, and the resulting images are always popular.
Alun and Zoe were announced in for their meal and cut the cake before being seated.
