Recent wedding photos from Gower wedding photographer Nic Cleave Photography at the Oxwich Bay Hotel, Swansea South Wales

Wednesday, August 18th, 2010

It was my pleasure to photograph the wedding of Eiry and Andrew last Saturday at one of my favourite Gower wedding venues, the Oxwich Bay hotel.

After visiting the house in the morning it was a short 2 minute drive to the beautiful Llandybie Parish Church between Ammanford and Llandeilo in Carmarthenshire. At the church I met Andrew with two sons Joseph and Harry, plus the other pageboys and best man and usher.

Eiry arrived with her Dad in a beautiful old Ford for a lovley church ceremony followed by a massive confetti exit before getting back in the car with Andrew for the hour drive to Oxwich Bay on Gower. Before arriving at the hotel we stopped off at the popular Gower wedding photo location Oxwich Castle ruins. However as soon as we arrived the heavens opened and a 15 minute cloud-burst meant that we were all scrambling for cover under archways in the ruins to try and keep dry.

Not deterred by the rude weather interruption, we still manged to get some great shots of Andrew and Eiry together in amongst the ruins, which make a dramatic backdrop for wedding images. Then we headed back down the hill (negotiating the flooded parts of the road,) and arrived at the Oxwich Bay Hotel Marquee.

After 15-20 minutes of family group photos, we headed off to the beach (now bathed in sunshine with some great moody clouds,) together with the bridal party. We ventured down the beach as far as the children’s legs would allow, just far enough to reach the sand dunes which always provide a stunning location for wedding photos on Gower. Joseph and Harry got to let off balloons and despite wearing full page-boy suits, enjoyed digging and playing in the sand as all young children do.

It was then a walk back (piggy back for the boys on Andrew,) to the hotel for the wedding breakfast, which was proceeded by cake cutting and speeches.

I hope you have enjoyed the ‘sneaky peek’ images above and would like to invite you to leave Eiry and Andrew a personal message below. All of the beautiful images from this very special family day will be available to view from this page, from Thursday August 26th when they return from honeymoon.

South Wales location-based baby and newborn photographer

South Wales location-based engagement photographer

We have re-vamped the popular location-based portrait area of our website. Adding lots of new images from recent sessions but also adding new galleries that now separate the areas of portrait photography that Nic regularly shoots.

We now have separate image galleries for Bump to Baby, Newborn/Baby, Couples, Families, Children and Location-studio shoots. Hopefully this will make it easier for new clients to find examples of the type of photography they are looking for, before they call to book their session.

Remember that available dates for outdoor summer sessions are now filling up rapidly, because we limit the number of sessions Nic photographs and have to carefully plan these shoots in and around his existing full wedding calendar.

An outdoor summer family location-based portrait session, is a great idea for producing gift ideas for the rest of the family at Xmas, so don’t leave it until we hit late Autumn or early Winter when the weather turns cold and wet.

If you’d like more information on our popular South Wales location-based family portrait services, please click here. To visit our new gallery page click here, and to read more on how these sessions work, click here.

We look forward to hearing from, and photographing you and your family soon.
