Nash Point Lighthouse wedding photos, recent wedding from Cardiff Castle by Cardiff wedding photographer, Nic Cleave Photography

It was my pleasure to capture the unusual wedding of Caroline and Keith last Saturday at the Nash Point Lighthouse near Cardiff on the South Wales coast.

The story of the day started at St. David’s Hotel & Spa on the Cardiff Bay waterfront, with Caroline getting ready in one of the rooms at the hotel.

Once ready Caroline joined Keith and the other guests in the lobby before boarding a vintage Double Decker bus for the long trip to Nash Point Lighthouse. This is one of only a few lighthouses in the UK today, which are licensed to conduct civil wedding ceremonies.

On arrival at the lighthouse I discovered that the ceremony was to take place on the fourth floor in a circular room which meant it was time to breakout the wide-angle lens, something I usually try to avoid at a wedding, unless using it for a specific effect, as it can distort the image at the edges. However the size of the room made the decision for me and I feel it helps to add to atmosphere of being ina  very small room half way up a lighthouse!

After a beautiful civil ceremony Caroline and Keith climbed the remaining steps to reach the top of the lighthouse, where we managed to create some very unique bride and groom images, taking full advantage of the beautiful weather and height.

After a few group photos at the bottom of the lighthouse and a few more of Caroline and Keith alone, it was time to get back on the bus, this time headed for Cardiff Castle and the wedding banquet.

The wedding banquet was followed with cake cutting and speeches and music and dancing from staff dressed in period costumes. A great visual end to a very unusual wedding day.

It was my pleasure to capture the story of Jennifer and Andrew’s wedding last Saturday at the beautiful Cwrt Bleddyn Hotel & Spa in Usk, Monmouthshire, Wales, UK.

The story of the day began with Jennifer’s preparations at her parent’s home in Caerphilly, before I made the short trip to St Martins Church in Caerphilly to meet Andrew and the guys.

After the church service we made our way towards Usk and the Cwrt Bleddyn Hotel and Spa for the wedding reception. After a brief walk around the grounds for Jennifer and Andrew’s bride and groom photos, we then captured some family group shots before heading inside to the main room for the wedding breakfast.

The story of the day began with Hannah’s preparations at her parent’s home in the small village of Llanarthne, before I made the short trip through the village to reach St. David’s church where I met Rhys and the guys.

After a lovely church service it was a short trip to Llandeilo, but before we reached the Cawdor Hotel in the centre of town, we headed up to the park at the top of town with views over the Carmarthenshire countryside and Llandeilo itself. Here we shot some close family groups and Hannah and Rhys’ bride and groom photos, before heading back down the hill to the Cawdor hotel for the wedding reception for cake cutting, the wedding breakfast and fianlly speeches.

Margam Orangery recent wedding photos from Neath Port Talbot wedding photographer, Nic Cleave Photography

It was my pleasure to capture the story of Kate and Richard’s wedding last Thursday at the stunning South Wales wedding venue of Margam Orangery, in the grounds of Margam Park and Castle, Port Talbot, Wales.

The story of the day began at Kate’s parent’s home in Neath before I made the short trip into the town centre to St. Thomas church where I met Richard and the guys.

After a beautiful church service we made our way the short distance to Margam Park, where the wedding reception was to be held in the magnificent Margam Orangery. Kate and Richard braved the rain to take a tour of the grounds and Margam castle on top of the hill, for their bride and groom photos.

The rain increased throughout the day meaning that we shot the few carefully selected family groups inside the Orangery itself, for the comfort of the guests.

The wedding breakfast was followed with cake cutting and speeches before the evening guests started to arrive.
